I just need to have a NBN rant. Our business decided to install the NBN around 4 weeks ago.The NBN technician, who was a very nice fellow, came along and did his job, after he worked which pillar to connect to. Goody, no internet for 24 hours as we couldn't get the router to connect to the NBN. You can imagine what it is like to have no internet in a business and it cost us a fortune - new phones as the old ones were not compatible, $5000, new router because the one we bought 12 months ago was not compatible, $542 and costs for our IT guy, Shaun Carnes from LNS Computers, he is brilliant if you need IT work, spent most of the day here trying to get it to work. Finally we were up and running after a fashion. About 2 weeks ago we were without phones and internet for 25.5 hours, no explanation as to why. Finally what really annoys me is that we never had any problems with our ADSL and now we have outlaid all this money for a service which is inferior to what we had. We were advised that as a business we should pay for the fastest plan. We have gone backwards, the NBN is always slower than our old ADSL and sometimes so slow that pages won't load. Good on you Government and NBN, technology going backwards. I also heard an NBN representative say on the ABC news last week say that we should keep in perspective that ONLY 1% of customers were having problems, so 1% customers don't matter? 100% of our customers matter and how many NBN customers make up that 1% ...
